Amelia “May” Richter, 98 of Greensburg passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at the Arbor Grove Nursing Home in Greensburg. May was born on April 5, 1915 in Rush County, the daughter of Otto and Glenda (Carr) Bokelman. On August 18, 1945, she married Merle Richter in Greensburg and he preceded her in death on March 28, 1985.
Survivors include one daughter Donna (Bill) Swigart of New Salem, two sons William (Janice) Soendlin of New Point and Richard (Rebecca) Soendin of Indianapolis, two sisters Mary Friedersdorf and Marjory Cooper, seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Merle, three sisters Miriam Bokelman, Lillian Robinson, and Martha Drennen, and one brother William Bokelman.
There will be a visitation for family and friends held on Saturday, September 28, 2013 from 11AM until the start of the Funeral Service 12PM at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Rossburg Cemetery in New Point. Memorial contributions may be made to the New Point Christian Church.
