William Edward Parrott, 82, of Greensboro, NC, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, June 7, 2024. He was born on January 23, 1942, in Burlington, NC, son of William and Ruth Moore Parrott. William lived a life marked by dedication and service.
William joined the US Army in 1963, serving his country honorably in Germany and Korea. During his military service, he was a proud member of the Hawk Missile outfit, contributing to the defense and security of his nation. After completing his service, he settled in Asheboro, NC for a few years, then moving to Greensboro, NC where he had a long and fulfilling career with the Plantation Pipeline Company. As a Terminal Operator, William's commitment and expertise were evident throughout his over 30 years of service.
He was a devoted husband to Anita Jeanne Lane, with whom he shared many cherished memories. Together, they raised three wonderful children: Danielle Lea Parrott, Brandon Edward Parrott (wife Beverly and stepsons Brandon and Matthew), and Mark William Parrott (partner Richard Simpson). William was preceded in death by his parents, sister Ann Elizabeth Parrott and sister Rebecca P. Queen.
William's legacy is one of love, hard work, and dedication. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
