Sharon Kay Skidmore O’Neal, 71, a resident of Trinity passed away on Sunday April 18, 2021 at the Randolph Hospice Home in Asheboro. She was born March 8, 1950 in Harrison County, WVA the daughter of Lantie James and Ivy Beatrice Marks Skidmore.
She was married to Dallas Willard O’Neal who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Betty Jean Wyant and brothers, Bernard James Skidmore and Ira Dane Skidmore.
Growing up Sharon enjoyed playing softball on Sunday afternoons with family and friends, going horseback riding or just being outside with her mother and father. Things that would make her smile was knowing that her family was well and happy. Favorite family moments would be when they would have family cook-outs, spending Christmas Day together or just being around family members. Those special moments were always when her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were born. She enjoyed crocheting, drawing and doing crafts. Sharon also enjoyed being with her children and traveling with Dallas.
Sharon considered special memories in her life to be when she joined Oak Hill Friends Meeting in High Point. She loved being with her church family. Sharon had worked in the food service areas with GrayBrier Nursing Center and High Point Regional Hospital. While at GrayBrier she was recognized with an award for her outstanding service. At High Point Regional Hospital she found herself being able to help visitors at the hospital when they were going through difficult times from the passing of a family member or friend.
Surviving are her daughter, Michelle Bustillo of Trinity; her son, Ezra Dwain “Dee” Cutright of Horner, WVA; step-daughter, Kimberly Dawn Peele and husband Tony of Denton; step-sons, Roger Glenn O’Neal and wife Charlene of Trinity, Richard Allen O’Neal and wife Angela of Asheboro; sisters, Bernadine Lou Garrett of FL, Bernice Marie Linger of WVA, Iva Dott Coburn of WVA, Doris Joann Posey of WVA, Hallie Mae Hawkins of Asheboro; brother, Bacil Lee Skidmore of NM; grandchildren, Noah Cutright, Daniel Bustillo, Allie O’Neal, Alex O’Neal, Jordan O’Neal, Emma O’Neal, Cody Robbins and wife Christina, Joshua Peele, Megan Peele, Ethan Peele, Karlie Peele and great grandchildren, Chloe Robbins, Callie Robbins and Ezra Eugene Cutright.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel conducted by Pastor John Sides. Interment will follow in Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00 a.m.
Serving as pallbearers will be Noah Cutright, Daniel Bustillo, Joshua Peele, Alex O’Neal, Ethan Peele and Cody Robbins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Sharon’s memory to the Cancer Foundation of the donor’s choice.
