Ruby Mason Stevens

Mrs. Ruby Mason Stevens, age 94, of 2115 Mimosa Drive, died Tuesday, July 14, after a brief illness. After growing up in Hyde County, she came to Greensboro to attend Woman’s College (now UNC-G). Her entire career was with Burlington Industries Corporate Headquarters, from which she retired in 1985. A member of Starmount Presbyterian Church, she was active in Sunday School, Presbyterian Women, and other activities. She was awarded an Honorary Life Membership by Starmount Presbyterian Women in 1992.

She married Herman K. (Steve) Stevens in September 1950, and mourned his death in February 1992. She is survived by her daughter, Marty E. Stevens, of Gettysburg, PA; stepson Richard K. Stevens and his wife Jackie, of Madison, NC; two step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.

Her memorial service will be Thursday, July 16 at 2:00 pm at Starmount Presbyterian Church, Greensboro. Private interment will take place at Westminster Gardens before the memorial service. The family will receive friends immediately after the service in the church parlor. Memorial contributions may be made to Starmount Presbyterian Church, 3501 W. Market St, Greensboro, NC, 27403.
