Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, December 5, 2022 at Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel, 6000 West Gate City Blvd., in Greensboro. Robert will be laid to rest in Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery, immediately following the funeral services. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral service from 1:00 until 2:00 PM.
Born in Greensboro on March 10, 1932 to the late Buddy and Lura Partin Barbee, Robert was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon, assistant Sunday School Teacher, sang in the church choir and sometimes also served as an usher. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the United States Marine Corp. He worked for Branch Motors for over 20 years and was a member of DAV. Robert enjoyed small engine repair, gardening, and vacationing at the beach. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great great-grandfather and friend who was loved my many and will be missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by sons, Robert Barbee, Jr., William Barbee and Bobby Pressley.
Those left to cherish his life include his wife of 50 years, Beulah B. Barbee; daughters, Anita B. Jones (Bo), Theresa B. Taylor (Russ), Cynthia B. Reddick (Parrish) and Angel Toomes (Don); 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 2 great great-grandchildren.
