Rita was a self-sufficient, self-contained person who took great pride and enjoyment in accomplishing a variety of tasks. She enjoyed gardening, especially her azaleas and mowing the lawn. Even our plumber, Mr. Del Nero marveled at how she could change the traps in our home sinks. Her most impressive talent was her outgoing spirit as she loved to be with and assist people. That gave her great joy to be able to help people. Rita was extremely social, she loved to dress up and go out, it didn’t matter where, movies, restaurants, trips, Grandson’s baseball games and school events. Rita was a caring and empathetic spirit who helped everyone she met. I suppose that came as a result of her early childhood experience helping her mother care for her 5 siblings; as well as after her father’s passing, she continued caring for her mother as they became best friends and inseparable. Rita was fierce and self-less when it came to her family.
Since she began her career as an executive secretary, she was very organized and precise in everything she did and always liked getting things done. She always wanted to get to the point as quickly as possible with no lollygagging around. She was a very direct person who always appreciated truth.
Rita was a loving, devoted mother and Grandmother and always enjoyed her afternoons at lunch and shopping with her daughter, she loved spending time visiting with her grandsons, hearing about their sports, school experiences and taking trips with her family.
Everyone who remembers Rita remembers her as being selfless, kind, empathetic and always wanting to make their lives better. We are all blessed to have had Rita in our lives and are all better off for it.
