The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at 11:00 am at Gate City Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Guilford Memorial Park.
Rachel was born in Greensboro, NC to the late Clifton and Josephine Brown on March 6, 1925. She worked as a secretary at Sears for many years. She was a member of Gate City Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Thurman Brown. Rachel is survived by her sister, Ellavay Brown of Greensboro; nieces, Sue Britton and husband Layne, Gale Draper, Joy Brown, Nikki Asbury, and Glenda Dockery; nephews, Glenn Hutchinson and Gerald Brown.
The family will visit with friends prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 am at Gate City Baptist Church.
