Patsy was born Nov. 20, 1937 in Loudon, TN, to Kenneth Edgar and Irene Eula Hogan Galyon. She later moved with her family to Sanford, where she graduated from Sanford Central High School in 1956. During her high school years, she met a student, Max Wofford at the rival Greenwood High School, whom she married on Nov. 21, 1956. After graduation, she was employed by Hines Telephone Company in Sanford. In 1967, she, Max and their son, Billy moved to Greensboro. She retired from Overnite Transportation and Welborn Electric. She was a lover of birds and animals, especially deer, and was an avid viewer of “The Young and the Restless.”
A wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, Patsy is survived by her husband of 62 years, Max; son Bill (Penny) of Greensboro; granddaughter, Rebekah of Greensboro; brothers, James Galyon of Morristown, TN and Kenny Galyon of White Pine, TN. She will be missed by her dog, Lilly.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 12th, 2:00 pm at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel with entombment to follow at Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her honor to Shriners Hospital for Children, Office of Development, 950 W. Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605 or First Moravian Church, 304 S. Elam Ave. Greensboro, NC 27403 or a charity of their choice.
