Patricia F. Staley

She was born in Rockingham County in 1928 to Nannie Turner and Albert D. Foster. Patricia was a 1948 graduate of Greensboro Senior High School. Following high school, she attended Lees McRae Junior College and UNC Chapel Hill, where she studied Sociology. She married John Overton in 1952. They spent their years living in Augusta, GA; Austria, Germany; El Paso and Fort Mammoth, NJ and settled in Greensboro after retirement.

Patricia was preceded in death by her first husband, John W. Overton in 1971; second husband, Charles Staley in 2000; grandson, Joshua Michael in 2005; daughter, Brenda Michael Mansfield in 2014; and her brother, Carey Foster in 2014.

Left to cherish her memory are her son; John W. Overton Jr. and step-son; Chris Staley.

A funeral service will be Thursday, August 11, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel, 6000 West Gate City Blvd, Greensboro, NC, with a visitation one hour prior to the service from 10:00 until 11:00 am. Burial will follow in the service in Guilford Memorial Park.
