Nancy Gayle Brown Trollinger, 81, of Liberty, moved on to her heavenly home on Wednesday, July 20, 2022. She was born December 17, 1940 in Greensboro, the daughter of Charles E. and Juanita Oliver Brown.
Nancy was a graduate of Sumner High School Class of 1959. She worked at the Sears & Roebuck Distribution Center and retired from the insurance industry. She was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church.
Nancy was an avid sports fan. She loved watching college basketball, golf, football and NASCAR. Nancy was a bird lover, especially cardinals and goldfinches. She spent many hours watching all the different birds in her back yard. Nancy also enjoyed spending time with her Sears & Roebuck and Shelby/Anthem Insurance friends. She always looked forward to her weekly lunch outings with the “Wednesday Bunch”. She cherished her Shiloh UMC family. Nancy never met a stranger. She touched many people’s lives through her kindness, compassion and true caring for others. Family was the most important part of Nancy’s life. She was loved dearly by her family and friends.
She was married to Douglas Kennett “Packy” Trollinger, Sr. who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Charles W. “Tootie” Brown, and her beloved canine companion, Cody.
Nancy is survived by her son, Douglas Kennett “Ken” Trollinger, Jr. (Becky) of Julian; daughter, Sharon Trollinger (Tammie) of Liberty; her sister, Judy B. Lynch (Calton) of Greensboro; her brother, William “Bill” R. Brown (Sue) of Greensboro; her grandchildren, Brian Casey (Liz), Brad Casey (Maja), Amanda Welker (Seth); her great grandchildren, Austin Casey, Dallas Casey, William Welker, Andrej Casey, Liam Casey and Sawyer Welker, and her many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel conducted by the Reverend Stephen Fitch. Interment will follow in Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
Serving as pallbearers will be Brian Casey, Erik Carroll, Brad Casey, Seth Welker, Liz Casey and Will Brown.
