Matthew was born on July 10, 1979 in Greensboro and is survived by a family who will love and cherish him always. Matthew graduated from Walter Hines Page High School and received a degree in exercise sports science from East Carolina University.
He worked as a sales representative at Lumenis Aesthetic in Raleigh, North Carolina. Matthew had a true love of sports and was a lifelong Bears fan. To all who knew him, Matthew was known for his infectious smile, genuine heart and fierce love of his family. He would go the extra mile to make his friends and family laugh and could win anyone over with his kindness and charm.
Matthew was a loving grandson, a beloved son, cherished brother and uncle. To Matthew, friends and family were everything. Above all, his mother Kathleen was his heart. Matthew was known for taking the long way to any destination so he could pay a special visit to someone he cared about. He was not a spectator in life and lived every day to the fullest.
Matthew is survived by his parents Kathleen Murphy Little and Ford Dean Little III of Greensboro; Matthew Emmett Sullivan of Ft. Lauderdale, his sister Nicole Sullivan LaRose and brother-in-law Jonathan Edward LaRose of Charleston, SC; his brother Ford Dean Little IV of Greensboro; his nephew Nicholas Joseph LaRose and his niece Vivienne Kathryn LaRose both of Charleston, SC; his grandfather Francis William Murphy of Greensboro, and Dottie the faithful family dog. He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Maria Grana Murphy and Kathryn Elizabeth Bayles and grandfather Maxwell Bayles.

The family will be receiving friends at Hanes Lineberry Funeral Home from 5:00 – 7:00 pm on Wednesday. A celebration of Matthew’s life will be held at 5:00 pm on Thursday at Phillips Chapel at Canterbury School 5400 Old Lake Jeannette Road in Greensboro. The family will visit with friends in Berry Hall at Canterbury School following the service.
