Mary was born on November 23, 1932 in Greensboro, NC, the daughter of Andrew Thomas and Martha Louise Ferree Cook. She worked with Western Electric (AT &T) and retired after thirty six years of service. She loved to spend time in the outdoors, hearing the birds sing and gardening. She loved to spend time in the mountains and the coast. Her greatest love was her family and the time she could spend with them. Mary was of the Baptist faith.
Mary was preceded in death by her son, John S. McCaskill and brother, David L. Cook. Surviving are her loving husband, James T. Jones of the home; daughter, Lynda McCaskill of Winston Salem, NC; two granddaughters, Brandie and Rainnie; step-son, Faron Jones; brother, George “Tom” Cooke and wife Billie of Greensboro, NC and sister, Emma Ruth Peeler of Florida.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, 12:00 noon at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel with Pastor Nathan Thompson officiating, Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel.
