Eden-Mrs. Mary Louis Hardin Weaver, 85, died on September 30, 2013 at Morehead Memorial Hospital. Graveside services will be today at 2 PM at Guilford Memorial Park in Greensboro with Pastor Teddy Lawson officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 1:45 PM prior to the service at Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel.
Mary was one of five children born in Robeson County, NC to the late Mr. & Mrs. Trover D. and Ola Bass Hardin. She was a homemaker who loved spending time with her family especially on Sundays, just visiting and having fun. She was married to William Weaver and spent almost sixty wonderful years together until his death in 1993. Mary valued friendship and was a woman who said what she meant and meant what she said. She enjoyed fishing and never turned down a good piece of fried chicken. Mary never learned to drive but that didn’t keep her from making her way to downtown Greensboro for one of her favorite pastimes, shopping.
She is survived by her sister, Louella Stewart of Eden; brothers, Trover Hardin of Lakeland, FL and Billy Hardin of Red Springs; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by her brother, Beamon Hardin.
The family would like to thank the nurses of the 2nd floor of Morehead Hospital, the staff of Morehead Nursing Center and Mary’s Bayberry Retirement Center family for their care, compassion and love shown to Mary while in their care. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to Hospice of Rockingham County, 2150 N Carolina 65, Reidsville, NC 27320, are suggested.
