A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 25, at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery, Kimesville.
Kay was born March 13, 1954, in Guilford County, NC to the late Harold L. and Vance Gannon Gourley. She graduated from Northeast Guilford High School in 1972. For 23 years, she worked for Blue Bell/Vanity Fair. She was a member of Alamance Presbyterian Church. Kay enjoyed water skiing and had a very strong love and passion for animals.
Mrs. Black is survived by her husband of 21 years, Roy of the home; sister, Sue Gourley Long and her husband Ed of Concord, step-sister, Peggy Snow Payne and her husband Melvin of McLeansville and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by her very special friends, the Whitt’s, the Shelton’s and Bernhardt’s.
The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 p.m. at Wednesday at Hanes Lineberry North Elm Chapel.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of Moses Cone on 2 West and Central and the staff at Select Specialty Hospital, 5th Floor. A very special thanks to the staff of Burlington Kidney Center for their care and compassion given to Kay and her family.
