Mary Alice Griffin

Mary Alice graduated from Jamestown High School and retired from AT&T. After retirement, Mary Alice was able to devote more time to her gardening and sharing that passion with anyone who showed an interest. Along with her gardening, Mary Alice also liked watercolor painting and any new crafting ideas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Ruth E. Crabtree, Maxine E. Honeycutt, Helen E. Long, Betsy E. Reid and her brothers, Charles Elliott, Carlton Elliott, George Elliott and Raymond Elliott.

Mary Alice is survived by her husband James Franklin “Sonny” Griffin of the home; two daughters, Teresa Griffin Penninger and husband Nelson of Lexington, Pamela Griffin Myers of Greensboro; one granddaughter, Celeste Penninger and three sisters, Nell Elliott Mills of High Point, Rebecca Elliott Luquer of High Point and Nancy Elliott Manning and husband Linville of Rocky Mount and many loving nieces and nephews.

Private family graveside services will be held Saturday at Guilford Memorial Park.
