Loving Wife, Supportive Mother, Awesome Mimi, and loyal friend, Margaret “Peggy” Cleary Meisner passed away peacefully at her residence surrounded by her loving family. A memorial service to remember and celebrate Peggy will be at 2 PM, Sunday, January 10 at Hanes-Lineberry N. Elm chapel. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8PM Saturday and beginning at 1 PM on Sunday prior to the service.
Peggy was born in New York City to Joseph John and Margaret Garrett Cleary. Surviving are her husband, Jack Meisner; her beloved children and their spouses, Brian and Summer Meisner of Greensboro and Dana and Patrick Curley of PA; her adored granddaughters, Aidan, Catherine and Ella Curley; brothers, Joseph Cleary of NJ and Kevin Cleary of NY; cousin who was more of a sister to her, Eileen Hintelmann of PA and many special friends.
Peggy loved to travel and while on a solo visit to Puerto Rico in 1970, was introduced to Jack. They have happily spent the last 45 years together. Peggy was an avid reader and worked for the Greensboro Public Library System as a Business Manager and was an integral part in the construction of the Central Library. She spent the last decade traveling to Philadelphia to spend as much time as she could with her granddaughters.
Her children remember an involved hands-on Mom who supported anything they wanted to try. Peggy’s intelligence, warm and thoughtful nature and great sense of humor drew people to her and she was blessed with gift of having many enduring and life-long friendships. She was a remarkable cook and loved to stay organized.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Jimmy V Foundation or Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro.
