Margaret Piephoff Cheek

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 2:00 pm in First Baptist Church Chapel with Dr. Steve Pressley officiating. Family visitation will be held prior to the service starting at 1:00 pm in the church parlor. Interment will follow at Westminster Gardens Cemetery.

Margaret was born in Guilford County to the late Melvin and Flo Byrd Piephoff. She was a member of First Baptist Church for many years. Mrs. Cheek retired from the North Carolina Angus Association where she served as the secretary/ treasurer for the Association for thirty years. She was inducted into the North Carolina Angus Association Hall of Fame in 1998.

She was active in the Greensboro Master Gardener program and was a gourmet cook.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Julian Carr Cheek; brother, William Piephoff and sister, Rebecca Allred. Mrs. Cheek is survived by her nieces, Ann Wyatt (Bobby), Judy Holdsclaw (Rick), Peg Allred; nephews, Bruce Piephoff (Laura), Dale Piephoff, and Danny Piephoff; and sister-in-law Judy Piephoff.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Preschool Program, 1000 W. Friendly Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27401 in her memory. The Preschool Program brought abundant sunshine to her last years.
