Mable was born on December 14, 1926 in Wilson County, the daughter of George Dow and Lucy Owens Page. She worked at Goodwin Barbecue in her early years and then she was the manager of College Court Apartments. Mable was a member of Harmony Free Will Baptist Church and she did volunteer work with the Red Cross. She also was a member of the Eastern Star, Mesh #379. Mable was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be deeply missed my all.
Funeral services will be held at the Whitestone Chapel at the Masonic Home in Greensboro on Monday, 10:00 a.m. A Graveside Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. at the Evergreen Memorial Garden Mausoleum at 3:00 p.m. on Monday afternoon.
Mable was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Lee Baker in 1970; sister, Ruth Page Taylor and brother, Edward Dow Amos Page. Those left to cherish her memory are her children; Brenda Baker Adkins, RN of Wilson, NC, Carolyn Baker Riggs and husband Teddy of Laurinburg, NC, Becky Jo Baker Kennon of Wilson, NC and Roy Lee ”Buddy” Baker Jr and wife Brenda of Wilson, NC; five grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
The family would like to extend their deep appreciation to Lessie White, Ann Smith and Lillian Ward, special friends at White Stone Masonic and Easter Star Home in Greensboro.
Memorials may be made to the American Red Cross, Harmony Free Will Baptist Church or to the Gideons or a charity of one's choice..
