Born September 25, 1946 in Greensboro, NC, she grew up on Brentwood Rd., enjoyed time living in Indian Rocks Beach, Fl., and recently resided at Pennybyrn of High Point. Linda attended Our Lady of Grace School. She graduated from St. Genevieve of the Pines Catholic High School in Asheville, NC., earning the nicknames “Poppy” and “Effervescence” for her free-spirited demeanor and delightful sense of humor. Linda attended Mitchell College and Peace College. Linda once admitted to having been a member of “4 or 5 sororities.” Knowing Linda, who was very social, this is most likely true.
Linda made her home in Hamilton Lakes and set about to having babies: Jim, William, and Julia Anne. Being a mother was her proudest accomplishment and she relished in all of her children’s successes. William, however, was her favorite.
Linda loved decorating, beautiful furniture, summers with her children at Hamilton Lakes Pool and family trips to the beach. She enjoyed Elvis and beach music; her favorite movie was “Gone with the Wind.” Linda loved a good steak or seafood dinner, salads with blue cheese dressing, fudge, hamburgers, desserts, whiskey sours, Whitman’s Samplers, Claxton’s Fruitcake, unsweet tea, diet coke, and cigarettes. She had a keen sense of style; her favorite colors were red and black, and the smell of White Shoulders perfume announced her arrival into a room.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents, William Joseph Schlosser and Rachel Wyrick Schlosser, brother Billy Schlosser, and nephew David Edmond Wesley Schlosser. She is survived by her children James Paul Murray III (Paula Meyer), William Schlosser Murray and wife Cindy, Julia Anne Tasker and husband Michael Fite, brothers Michael A. Schlosser and his wife Rebecca, James E. Schlosser and wife Sharon as well as nephew Drew Schlosser and nieces Caroline Richardson and Anna Preston Schlosser.
