Karen was born June 11, 1938 in Alger, OH, the daughter of Zora Calvert and Tressie Lawrence Calvert.
Karen married the love of her life, Larry Patton on August 31, 1956 and together they shared a life of ministry. The consummate “preacher’s wife,” she supported him during his years as a church pastor. They moved to Greensboro in 1986 where Karen continued to work by her husband’s side in Christian Broadcasting. She was employed by the TCT Network for over 30 years where she served as Assistant Station Manager at WLXI until her retirement. Karen was a member of Calvary Church, she enjoyed traveling, especially cruises, and was an avid reader. She also enjoyed gardening, ballroom dancing and shopping—especially with her daughters. Most of all, Karen loved spending time with her family and was a devoted grandmother.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 65 years, Larry Patton; daughters, Debi Warner (Danny) of Southport, NC and Lori Paul (Rob) of Greensboro, NC; son, Steve Patton (Alice) of Williamsburg, VA; grandchildren, Trevor (Tina), Jacob (Abby) and Ethan (Brooke) Paul, Michael Patton and “bonus” grandchildren, Kit, Stacey and Ryan Warner; great grandchildren, Harper and Hallie Paul.
