Joseph Daniel (Joe) Caviness Sr., age 96, peacefully passed away Sunday, Aug.11, 2013 at Beacon Place of Greensboro following a prolonged illness. Born November 30, 1916 he lived his entire life in Greensboro. A devoted and loving Husband, father and grandfather, he was proceeded by his loving Wife of 61 years Joyce Caviness. He is survived by: Sons Joseph D. Caviness Jr. of Pleasant Garden, NC, and David and wife Linda Caviness of Gibsonville, NC, Daughter Sarah and husband Bill Wyrick of Brown Summit, NC, One Brother Gene Caviness of Summerfield, NC, Grandchildren: Terry Hutchens, Angela Lanier, Penny Council and husband Chris, David Langston and wife Heather, Rene’e Griffin and husband Steve, Krista Caviness, Melany Shoffner and husband Chad. 10 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013 from 6 to 8 pm at Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home on N. Elm Street. A graveside service will be held at Lakeview Memorial Park on Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013 at 11 am. The service will be officiated by Pastor Joshua Parrish of Awestruck Church.
All of us will miss Dad’s loving smile and the mischievous twinkle in his eyes. The family would also like to give a special thanks to Terry Hutchens for all you did for Dad and a heart felt thanks to all of the care givers and staff at Hospice of Greensboro and Beacon Place.
