Jimmy Darrell Ridge, 75, passed away on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at his residence. Jim was born on September 17, 1943 in Chillicothe, Ohio but he had been a resident of the High Point/Greensboro area for the majority of his life. He was a manufacturer’s sales representative for building materials in the southeast for 37 years (1975-2012) doing business as Ridge Sales Associates/Jim Ridge Sales and during this time, he also was the founder and President of Sunshine Windows/Illusions which was a residential window manufacturer that was operated by his sons, Scott and Brian. Before 1975 he worked for Endura Products, Pittsburgh Plate Glass and Carolina Steel. Jim’s first love was his work but he also took great pleasure in boating and cars, once owning several Corvettes.
Jim was pre-deceased by his parents; Clifton Ernest and Claudia Mae (Kirk) Ridge; brothers, Raymond Douglas Ridge and David Clifton Ridge, and his son, David Scott Ridge. He is survived by his sister, Doris Ridge Woodruff (Bill); sons, Raymond Brian Ridge (Gayle) and Derek Kirk-Stanley Ridge; granddaughters, Kristen Ridge Hanks (Cody), Kaley Ridge(Christi); daughters of Scott, Anne Murdico Dawson (Robbie) and Jennifer Murdico Baucom (David); daughters of Brian and Harper Birkett Ridge, the daughter of Derek.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, 11:00 a.m. at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel. Entombment will follow at Guilford Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 pm at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel.
