Jimmy “Frank” Jose was born December 8, 1944 in Rudyard MS where he spent his childhood on the family farm. As a young adult, Frank lived in nearby Clarksdale, MS where he worked as Service Manager at Nabors Chevrolet for 20+ years. This is probably where his love of cars started. Frank liked trading cars and could find nearly any excuse to upgrade his ride.
Clarksdale is where he met the love of his life, Marilyn C. Boyette. Frank and Marilyn then fulfilled a dream of theirs and moved from Clarksdale to nearby Moon Lake, MS. In 1987, Marilyn and Frank moved to Greensboro to work at Spring Valley restaurant. Ultimately they purchased Spring Valley restaurant and ran it together for over 30 years, including rebuilding the restaurant in 2020 following a fire.
Frank was very generous and giving and spent a great deal of time helping others. He would help anyone in a time of need. He spent his own money to spay and neuter stray cats near his restaurant. He was the proud father of four dogs; two of which were rescues. He always provided meals to his family and loved cooking. Frank was well-known for spoiling his grandkids and great-grandkids. He was a frequent shopper with his three granddaughters in Eckerds near his restaurant buying candy, makeup, and other trinkets.
Frank had a Man Cave to be envied by many. Equipped with HVAC, a refrigerator, TV, and a backup generator, Frank rarely had to leave his Cave.
Frank had many hobbies throughout his life. He enjoyed watching college football, cooking shows and NASCAR. His favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt Sr. His favorite pastime was truly fishing. Frank was an avid bass fisherman and he really loved taking his Ranger boat out with his son, Tony or his good friend, Ken to Randleman Lake.
Frank is predeceased by his mother & father, Jimmy and Mary of Clarksdale and sister, Jane Anderson of Batesville, MS. Frank is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Marilyn Jose of Greensboro, his daughter Cathy (Tom) Phelps of Clarksdale MS; his brother, Wayne Jose of Benton, KY; three stepchildren, Kristen Malatesta Pruitt and Tony Murphy of Greensboro and Robert Malatesta (Sean) of Chicago, IL; three grandchildren, Meridth (Brendan) Bogue of Stokesdale, NC, Tayler (Matt) Berry of Wilmington, NC and Kaitlyn Pruitt of High Point, NC; and his great grandchildren, Cole and Caroline Bogue and Judson Berry.
