Jerry Lynn Williams

A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 18, 2017, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 2203 West Market Street with Father Paul Buchanan officiating.

Jerry was born September 12, 1940, in Harnett County, NC, one of ten children of the late Henry and Rexie Williams. He graduated from Erwin High School in 1958, where he was Senior Class President. After graduating from high school, he proudly served his country while in the United States Army and after serving, he graduated from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. Jerry was a lifetime 40 year member of the Elks Lodge #602 and honorary member of The American Institute of CPA’s. In 1973, he joined Costello, Hill and Company, CPA Firm of Greensboro becoming a partner in 1976 until he retired in 2012. Jerry was very athletic and enjoyed playing golf, tennis, pool and bowling.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was also preceded in death by his nine siblings. He is survived by his wife, Diane Paquette Williams; children, Jeffrey Williams (Karen) of Atlanta, GA, Amy Bowes (Donald) of Roxboro, NC, Francine Bock (Patrick) of Greensboro, Sherry Adams (Corey) of New York, NY; 12 grandchildren, Ryan, Bradey, Nolan, Gavin, Callan, Donovan, Christian, Colby, William, Kressleigh, Kessler, Sabine and 2 great grandchildren Ollie and Kane. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday at Hanes Lineberry North Elm Chapel, 515 North Elm Street.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Beacon Place and Hospice for the care given to Jerry and his family.
