On December 9, 2022 our loving father, life partner, grandfather, sibling and uncle passed away. Jeffrey Lee Pickett, 69, of Sparta, WI will be remembered forever. His celebration of life will be held in Sparta, WI on January 14, 2023 at a location to be announced at a later date.
Jeff was born August 11, 1953 in Madison, WI to the late Robert L. and Elizabeth “Betty” Meylor Pickett. He is survived by his loving life partner of 19 years, Victoria “Vicky” Thompson; son, Zachary “Zach” Pickett & wife Mercedes; grandchildren, Myla and Axl Pickett; brother, Randy Pickett and wife Annette; sister, Vicki Weber and husband Dennis; nephews, Randy Pickett Jr., and Nicholas Gomez, niece, Ann Pickett; Vicky’s children, Amy Shramek and husband Justin, their children Logan, Jackson and Tavian and Erin Meder and husband Nate and their daughter Reagan; extended family and many wonderful friends.
Jeff’s family and friends were very important to him. He always believed in living life to the fullest and making memories. His moto was “to kill them with kindness, because they can’t be mad if they are laughing.” He was always joking and making people laugh, caring and loving, always telling old stories and willing to help anyone who needed it. He taught people the meaning of love and true friendship. Jeff showed that if you stick with something, you can achieve it.
Jeff’s greatest achievement was setting a life up for himself that allowed him to spend as much time with his family as he wanted. He loved classic 60’s and 70’s rock and country. He loved watching the Packers and going to Brewers games and NASCAR races. He loved cars when he was younger and loved to talk about and tell stories about the old days.
In more recent years, he enjoyed going fishing with his son and the grandkids, taking them to Chuck E. Cheese and spending time with them every chance he got.
Advantage Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Greensboro is assisting the family.
