Jean Marie Roberts Moffitt, 82, passed away on Friday, Mar. 12, 2010 at Moses Cone Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, 2:00 pm at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel. Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park.
Jean was born on Dec. 23, 1927 in Guilford County, the daughter of Howard L. and Bertha Smith Roberts. She loved to spend time at the beach and enjoyed fishing with her husband. She loved animals and always wanted to be “on the go.” Jean was a member of Gate City Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, John C Moffitt . Those left to cherish her memory are her children; Bill Moffitt and wife Nancy of China Grove, NC, Alice Mitchell and husband Tommy of Greensboro, NC; sisters; Margaret Gerock and husband Harry, Catherine Dalche and brother, H.E. Roberts, all of Greensboro, NC; grandchildren, Wendy Ricker, Jeremy Moffitt, Steven Moffitt and Mike Mitchell and eight great grandchildren.
Memorials in Jean's memory may be made to Gate City Baptist Church, 5250 Hilltop Road, Jamestown, NC 27282
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1:00 pm till service time at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel.
