Father James F. Scherer was born on March 13, 1937 in Philadelphia, PA and died September 15, 2022 at AuthoraCare Collective / Beacon Place in Greensboro, NC. He was ordained to the priesthood May 16, 1964.
In addition to his parents, Father Scherer was preceded in death by two siblings, brother Charles and sister Trudy. He is survived by his last sibling, Betty Ann McNamara. In addition, he is survived by 15 nieces and nephews and a multitude of great-nieces and great-nephews.
A simple memorial Mass will be held at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Greensboro at 11:00 a.m. on October 21, 2022 with a reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to your favorite charity is suggested.
