

Jacqueline “Jackie” Chestnut Sullivan, 86, a resident of Greensboro passed away on Friday February 14, 2025. A native of Greensboro, she was born September 15, 1938, the daughter of Thad Hoke and Thelma Rochelle Chestnut.
Jackie was a graduate of Sumner High School. She worked as a Sales Representative for Carolina Steel for many years at a time when it was rare for women to hold such a position. She went on to work at Queensboro Steel Corp. where she retired in 2001. She was a member of Muirs Chapel United Methodist Church.
She loved to golf, shop, feed and watch the birds, and flowers in the spring time. Most of all she loved to spend time with her family and her friends. She was witty and had a wonderful sense of humor. Jackie touched the hearts and lives of many through her wisdom and compassion.
She was married to Howard Sullivan for 66 years who preceded her in death. The two of them were inseparable and had an enduring love for each other. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Shelby C. Clodfelter.
Surviving are her daughter, Michelle Sullivan Martin and husband Ed of Greensboro, two grandchildren, William Howard Martin and wife Elizabeth of Climax, Megan Martin Protzek and husband Josh of Oak Ridge. She had four great grandchildren, Jackie Martin, Stacey Martin, Davis Protzek and Allie Grace Protzek whom she adored and loved with all her heart.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday February 23, 2025 at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel conducted by Pastor Matt Burkett. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Private family interment will be held at Guilford Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Jackie’s memory to the Moses Cone Cancer Center or to Search Ministries, 1852 Pembroke Rd. Greensboro, NC 27408
