When Jake was about eight years old, he asked Dan if he was being treated for cancer. Dan asked him why he would think that.  Jake said that since Dan was bald, he must be receiving cancer treatments.

Dan and I thought he must have known someone who was going to chemotherapy.   Pretty smart deduction on his part.

Jake was truly a giant  in my life, we were @ a gathering  @ my daughter's  Shaniece  & Denis home when I fell and could not get up, two of their friends alone with Jake came to my aid, I tried to convince  them that they would not be able to pick me up, but Jake said "I got u" I will always be grateful  to them! Jake was always so kind to everyone when we went to the beach, I will never forget his dad always telling us he had a tender heart. Could not be more true.  Sending our love and prayers, cannot believe he is gone.

Jake was such a sweet guy.  I remember him having fun at the beach , from when he was a baby to his teenage years. He was always kind.

Sweet Jacob!  I was his librarian while he was in elementary school.  He was quiet, but always a twinkle in his eye.

We new jake threw this girlfriend Sam and his best friend Laura smith who is my daughter. He had a heart of gold. He was the nicest person you could ever meet. He truly will be missed. We loved him very much. He was family. I want to tell his family we are truly sorry for what happened and y’all will be in our prayers. His mother raised a very nice and good hearted young man. She done an amazing job. We miss and love you very much jake and thank you for always being there when I needed help and thank you so very much for being my daughters best friend.

We are devastated. We still have memories of him as a toddler coming to our  house for a snack, which his mom didn't know  about until we asked him if he had permission from his mom. Or the time when he was less than a year old and he crawled into a hole we had dug to remove a basketball hoop.

You are not forgotten, Jake.
