Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at Hanes-Lineberry N. Elm St. Chapel, with Dr. Pat Cronin officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Greensboro.
Born September 24, 1948 in Greensboro, to the late Thomas C. Dixon, Jr. and Hilda D. Dixon, Diane was a faithful member of Friendly Avenue Baptist Church. After High School she attended East Carolina University. Diane loved the business arena and excelled in finance and accounting. She had a passion for children and animals; reading and writing poetry. Diane loved dancing and listening to beach music, horseback riding, and was a huge fan of the Carolina Tarheels. Diane was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis around the age of 40 and even though her mobility eventually became an obstacle in her life, she never stopped living every day to the fullest. She was a loving and devoted mother, sister, and friend who was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Diane Spencer Blake and husband Mike of Wilmington, NC and Wendy Laura Bivens and husband Robert of Raleigh, NC; brother, Thomas C. Dixon, III and wife Janet of Raleigh, NC; and her best friend and caregiver, Linda Kostak of Greensboro.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Tuesday evening, May 12, 2015 at the funeral home.
