Helen Stine Boone

Helen graduated from Sumner School in 1943. She received her RN degree from High Point College Nursing School in 1947. She worked as an office nurse for EENT Dr. Jos. Prefontaine and retired from Wesley Long Community Hospital. She attended 16th St. Baptist Church for many years and became an active member of Lawndale Baptist Church following the closure of 16th St. Baptist Church.

On October 24, 1947 Helen was married to Peter Victor Boone, Jr. who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Iris S. Morris and her husband Stancil. She is survived by her daughter, Kathie Gentry and husband Gregory V. Permar, daughter, Laura Boone-Sherrill and son-in-law Henry Sherrill; step-granddaughter, Carrie Permar and husband Josh and niece, Mary Lynn Morris.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday at Lawndale Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. Joe Giaritelli and Reverend Marion Boling officiating. Interment will follow in Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday from 1:45 until time of the service.
