George W. Michael was called home to his heavenly Father on Thursday, May 17, 2018. A graveside service will be held on Monday, 11:00 a.m. at Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the graveside service at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel.
George was born in Guilford County to the late Warden and Annie Mostelller Michael. He served his country in the US Navy during WW II. Following his military service, he worked as a welder until his retirement. He was a long time member of 1st Pilgrim Holiness Church which later became Christ Wesleyan Church. George was a loving husband to his wife Peggy Ann, who passed away in 2016, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend to many. He will be deeply missed.
George was preceded in death by his son, Billy Michael and two grandsons, John and Joshua Michael. Those left to cherish his memory are his children and their spouses; Terry Michael of Greensboro, James (Lisa) Michael of Wilmington and Donna (Ron) Johnson of Greensboro; grandchildren, Hannah, Sonya and George Michael.
