Frances J. Ruggiero “Mazzie”, 89, a resident of Greensboro passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday December 11, 2022. She was born September 23, 1933, in Hart County, Georgia, the daughter of Lawson Blakely and Pauline Tankersley Freeman.
Frances worked as a waitress at the Greensboro Country Club for 29 years. She loved watching her afternoon soaps, reading Danielle Steele Novels, listening to Willie Nelson, and spending time with her family. She was an amazing mother, grandmother, and friend.
Her husband of 48 years, Rudolph Patrick Ruggiero, “Poppy” preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Tommy Freeman, and a granddaughter, Danielle Shae Ruggiero.
Frances is survived by her sons, Bo Ruggiero, Danny Ruggiero, Albert Ruggiero, Tony Ruggiero, John Ruggiero; 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 10 – 11am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 812 Duke St. Greensboro, NC 27401. Mass will begin at 11am. Burial to follow Mass at Guilford Memorial Park, 6000 W. Gate City Blvd. Greensboro, NC 27407
