Frances Robinson French

Fran was born October 25, 1930, in Greensboro, NC, to William Frank and Jessie Shaw Robinson and lived there until moving to Wrightsville Beach, NC in 1979, to Hampstead, NC in 1982, and then to Charlotte, NC, in 2023. She was a 1948 graduate of Bessemer High School and served at the Central Carolina Convalescent Hospital for polio patients in Greensboro.

Fran is predeceased by her loving husband of 62 years, Thomas Chandler French. Fran is survived by her brother Joe Robinson of Augusta, GA, and three sons, Rick French (June) of Charlotte, NC, Jeff French of Greenville, NC, and Greg French (Val) of The Woodlands, TX. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Shannon LaPrade, Elizabeth Farley, Katherine (Dusty) Rhodes, Chandler French, Jordan French, Lacey French (Bill), Mattie French (Todd), and Taylor (Andree) Torres. Her surviving great-grandchildren are Samantha and Christian Farley; Emily, Carson, and Cameron Rhodes; Addie and Easton Brown; Grayson Conerly; and A.J. Torres Jr.

Fran's family and friends were a source of great joy, and she enjoyed both family and Bessemer High School reunions. Fran was the purest of love, a teacher of compassion and very protective of her family. She was kind, gentle, caring and our Best Friend.

The family would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the loving and attentive staff of Wickshire Steele Creek and Atrium Health Pineville.

The family will receive friends at 12:00 noon on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at Hanes Lineberry Funeral Home, 6000 W. Gate City Blvd. Greensboro, NC 27407. A memorial service will begin at 1:00 PM, with burial immediately following at Guilford Memorial Park.
