Flora S. Stanley, 93, passed away on Monday, June 19, 2017. She was born on May 4, 1924 in Sylvatus, VA, the daughter of Manuel V. and Sarah Jane Surratt Stillwell. She worked as a Registered Nurse at the C&O Hospital in Clifton Forge, VA for over 29 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Guilford Stanley, Jr. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Debbie Cox and husband Ross of Greensboro, NC; two grandchildren, Gwen Lowe and husband Chris of Greensboro, NC, Stefan Cox and wife Lynn of Wheaton, IL; three great grandchildren, Hayden Lowe, Hunter Lowe and Parker Cox.
A private family service will be held at St. Francis Episcopal Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Rector’s Discretionary Fund at St. Francis Episcopal Church, 3506 Lawndale Drive, Greensboro, NC 27408. Hanes Lineberry N.
