GREENSBORO: Mrs. Elizabeth (Betty) Felt, 100, passed away on Tuesday May 17th at Friends’ Home at Guilford where she had been a resident since 1995. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 on Saturday May 21st at Westminster Gardens. On Thursday June 2nd a Memorial Service will be held in the Living Room at Friends’ Home Guilford at 2:00p.m.
Betty was born in Adams, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late Rev. and Mrs. Charles Stanley Pease. She graduated from Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vermont and married the late William Norcross Felt in 1931. She and her husband were avid world travelers and had 62 years of happy married life together. Since moving to Greensboro she was a member of First Presbyterian Church where she was an active circle member, a volunteer with Community Service, and an organist for the former Wednesday morning Chapel services. She also was an organist and choir director at First Christian Church in Greensboro. Other activities included being a member and former president of the Euterpe Club, a member and former president of Westridge Gardeners, member of PEO Sisterhood Chapter J, a member of Alliance Francaise, and President of Faculty Wives of Woman’s College (now UNCG).Betty was predeceased by her sister, the Rev. Dorothy W. Pease. She is survived by her daughter Marcia and son-in-law John Abernethy of Greensboro and grandchildren Eric Abernethy of Asheboro and Robin Abernethy of Marietta, Georgia..
