Mrs. Elizabeth "Anne" N. Mitchell

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, January 30, 2011, at Hanes-Lineberry N. Elm St. Chapel, with Rev. Joel Locklear officiating. Burial will follow at Fair Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery, in Reidsville.

Ms. Mitchell was a life-long resident of Greensboro and was a 38 ½ years retiree of Western Electric, AT&T, Lucent Technology. For over 50 years, she was a devoted congregant of Bessemer United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. Later in life, she volunteered in the Intensive Care Unit at Wesley Long Community Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Shreve Mitchell; her parents, Alvin and Ellava Perlman; as well as her sisters, Edith Nelson French and Marlene Perlman Lockerman.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Robert Douglas Mitchell; nephews, David Lee French, Jose Herrera Ruano, Steven Davis Lockerman; niece, Sandra Lockerman Jones and her husband Luther Thomas Jones, II and their children; as well as her dear friends, Denise and Mike Faucett.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 pm Sunday evening at the funeral home and from 12:00 until 2:00 pm, Monday afternoon, two hours prior to the funeral service.
