Mrs. Edna Harris Ballew

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home N. Elm Chapel. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Edna was a member of Newlyn Street United Methodist Church. She was retired from P. Lorillard with 33 years of service. She was a faithful follower of the Billy Graham Foundation. She enjoyed gardening, yard work, fishing, spending time at Holden Beach and loved being with family, friends and her grandchildren. Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Dodson and their daughter, Nancy Dodson Shoe.

Edna is survived by her son, Keith Dodson and special friend, Sylvia Mounce of Greensboro, sister, Martha “Moffie” Watson of Roxboro, son-in-law, Howard Shoe of McLeansville, grandchildren; Kevin Dodson and wife, Christina, David Shoe and wife, Jessica, Amanda Shoe Martin and husband, Gary, Gary Shoe and wife, Deanna, great-grandchildren; Johnnie Allred, Noah Shoe, Kayla Dodson, Tyler Dodson, special friend, Janet Griffin, and her beloved dog, JoJo.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
