Dorothy Mabe Nelson

Greensboro- Mrs. Dorothy M. Nelson, 84, passed away peacefully January 30, 2014 at Wesley Long Hospital surrounded by her family. A graveside service will be held at Wilson Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery on Monday, February 3, at 1 PM with Pastor Mark Shelley officiating. The cemetery is located at 3737 Dodgetown Road, Dodgetown, NC 27052.

Dorothy was the daughter of the late Bobby Cephus and Linnie Hawkins Mabe and was a faithful member of Shannon Hills Bible Chapel for sixty years.

She is survived by her two sons and their spouses, Andy (Pattie) Nelson and Curtis (Linda) Nelson both of Greensboro; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; sisters, Catherine Southard, Olena McMillan and Teresa Shaw; brother, Bobby Cephus Mabe Jr. ; several nieces; and many dear friends.

The family would like to thank the staff of Wesley Long Hospital and especially the Palliative Care Unit for the compassion and care shown Mrs. Nelson. Memorial contributions made to the Palliative Care Unit, Wesley Long Hospital, 501 N. Elam Ave., Greensboro, NC 27403 are appreciated in lieu of flowers. Hanes-Lineberry N. Elm chapel is serving the Nelson family.
