Doris W. Jackson, 98, passed away October 9, at her home where she lived with her daughter and son-in-law. She was a life long resident of Greensboro. She was the youngest of three daughters of Minnie Hamby Walker and Melvin Greene Walker.
She graduated from Guilford High School Class of ’36 and attended Woman’s College. She worked beside her husband in their printing business, Jackson Printing Co., which was the first printing company in Greensboro, and later in their coin business, Jackson Coin Co.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband of 63 years, James W. Jackson, Jr., their son, James W. Jackson, III (Jimmy); sisters Luna Walker Dyson and Viola Walker Nelson. She is survived by a daughter, Judy Faust and husband, Randy; three grandchildren, Kenneth Rettie (Jamie), Brian Rettie (Andie), Amy Rettie Hobson (Matthew); seven great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law Ruth Culler and Adele Jackson; and many special nieces and nephews.
Doris was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Greensboro since 1956. She loved her Lord, loved her family, her extended family, her church and church family.
The family wishes to thank Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro for their caring and helpful service.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 14, from 1-2:00 pm, and funeral service will be at 2:00 pm at the Hanes Lineberry Chapel on N. Elm St. Interment will follow at Guilford Memorial Park.
