Diane Elizabeth Clark Self, 67, of Greensboro went peacefully to be with her Lord and Saviour, September 15, 2017. She was born to the late Willis Green Clark and Ollie Estelle Clark. Also preceded in death by her brothers, Charles Wade Clark (Peggy-deceased), Paul Stephen Clark (Joann-deceased) of Brown Summit, Robert Luther Clark (Sylvia) of Cliffside, and sister Helen Clark Dills of High Point. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Patrick Crawford Self; son, Brian Patrick Self and granddaughter Haylee Elizabeth Self; sisters Frances Kay Bullard (Bob) of Brown Summit, Doris Fay Bullock (Ronald) of Missouri and brothers, David Leon Clark (Gayle) of Brown Summit and Larry Donald Clark (Bonnie) of Stokesdale.
Diane was a loving and devoted Christian wife, mother and mawmaw. Although devoted to Patrick and Brian, Diane loved being a mawmaw to her pride and joy, Haylee. Endless days and nights caring for her, laughing and teaching Haylee values of life and the love of family, brought Diane much joy. She taught Haylee about Jesus and His love for her and others. They had their own little area for their devotions together. Diane would read from her devotional, then read to Haylee from her little devotional. She instilled in Haylee the love of music and song. Haylee’s young life has been so enriched by the love of her precious mawmaw.
Diane’s life and heart was that of a Servant. Through her life and, through her illness, she was always a witness of the love of Jesus Christ. Her acceptance of her illness as God’s will for her was a testimony of her strong faith. She had a burden for lost souls. Her faith in Jesus was witnessed by all who knew her. All who visited her during her illness, as well, was lifted and encouraged by her. Diane will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Thank you to all those who helped and supported us in our time of need. We are truly thankful for all your love and support. To Hospice nurses and caregivers at Pallitive Care of Greensboro, we thank you.
