A memorial service will be held Tuesday, 1:00 p.m., at Hanes-Lineberry N. Elm Chapel by Rev. Dr. Jean Rodenbough.
David was born September 10, 1945 in Washington, D.C., the son of James T. Hoyle, Sr. and Margaret Bowers Hoyle.
David was a veteran of the US Army and a graduate of Wake Forest University. Through the years, David was employed by J.P. Stevens, the travel industry and Bright Plastics. David had his own way of doing things and was endeared for his dry wit. He loved all things chocolate and was especially fond of his dogs. Most of all David was an avid fisherman who could be found on his boat at several local lakes.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Hoyle.
Surviving are his sister, Margaret “Peggy” Chlada and husband John of Salisbury, MD; brother, James T. Hoyle, Jr. and wife Constance of Garner; sister-in-law, Cathy Lundblad and husband Frank of Raleigh and many nieces and nephews.
The family asks with gratitude that memorials in David’s name be made to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, 424 E. 92nd St., New York, NY 10128-6804.
