Clark was born in Cumberland, Maryland and was raised in Berlin, PA. He had resided in Greensboro since 1958. He was a WWII veteran serving almost three years in the Army Air Corp. After service, he graduated from business college and spent ten years with NCR Corporation as a bank and financial systems specialist.
Clark’s second career was twenty seven years as a stock broker retiring from Wheat First Securities. He was a lifelong collector of rare coins and currency, serving two terms as President of the NC Numismatics Association. He also served more than twenty years as the treasurer of the Guilford Wildlife Club. Clark was a 60 year Mason, a Shriner, a member of the Elks Club and other civic organizations. He was also a proud 50 plus year member of the Young Men’s Bible Class at First Presbyterian.
Clark was predeceased by his loving wife of 65 years, Betty K. White. Left to cherish his memory are his three children, Mary W. Skenes and husband Bob, David C. White, III and wife Linda, Jonathan C. White and wife Wendy, one grandchild Rob Skenes and wife Vanessa and two great granddaughters, Lauren and Allison Skenes.
The family will receive friends from 6 PM to 8 PM, Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Hanes Lineberry, North Elm. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 30, 2015 at 2 PM in the Chapel at First Presbyterian Church, followed by the interment at Green Hill Cemetery.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made in Clark’s memory to the charity of the donor’s choice.
