Mrs. Barbara Eason Burns, 80, a resident of Gibsonville died Friday January 30, 2015 at the Alamance-Caswell Hospice Palliative Care Home in Burlington. Barbara was born November 3, 1934 in Washington D.C., the daughter of Duane and Vonnie Cannidy Eason.
She retired as a teller in the banking industry.
She was married to Joseph Christopher Burns who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Barbara and Joe retired early to travel and share adventures in the desert of Nevada. She never stopped talking about the fun times and her love for the casinos and beauty of the desert.
Her love for her children, grandchildren, and family gave her the strength to fight cancer and broken bones. She was independent and strong through it all while she continued to lift up her family with love.
Surviving are one daughter, Tina Ingram of Whitsett; two sons, Bobby J. Burns and wife Cathy of Gibsonville, Chris Burns and wife Jan of Tampa, FL; one sister, Frances Willingham of Colorado; six grandchildren, Robbie Burns, Mike Burns, Tiffany Capps, Nicole Wyrick, Kimberly Gruber, Jimmy Burns and nine great grandchildren, Savannah, Cameron, Austin, Cody, Sam, Tyler, Caden, Mason and Chandler.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel, 6000 High Point Rd., Greensboro, NC 27407 conducted by the Reverend Roger Barefoot. Interment will follow in Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
