Audrey H. Thompson

As a native of North Carolina, Audrey was a graduate of Wake Forest Baptist School of Nursing. She took great pride in having her family near to create memories. Her greatest love was to serve others through delicious home-cooked food and her unique skills as a nurse. Most days you could find her and her devoted husband, Jerry, tending to their garden and enjoying time together watching the seasons go by. Her loving heart and generous spirit will be greatly missed but, she lived a fulfilling life as a shining part of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild’s lives.

Audrey is survived by her son, Terry Thompson of Raleigh, NC; her sisters, Shearra Jackson of Winston-Salem, NC and Barbara Anderson of Greensboro, NC; her granddaughters, Erin Bost and Allison Kelly of Charlotte, NC; her great-granddaughter Hailey Bost; and many cherished family members. Audrey was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Jerry Thompson; her parents, Robert “Bob” William and Pearl Harris; and her daughter, Lisa Thompson Kelly.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at First Baptist Church of Greensboro, 1000 West Friendly Ave. Greensboro, NC 27401. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church sanctuary. Her family is under the care of Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Audrey’s honor to First Baptist Church of Greensboro.
