Anthony "Tony" Dean Gibson

Tony was a member of the graduating class of 1981 at Western Guilford High School. He worked in the automotive industry.

Tony had such a giving heart. He was always willing to share and loved helping those in need. He loved to dabble in antiques, collectibles and paintings with his uncle Bob.

He loved sports: watching NASCAR with his dad, Carolina Tar Heels basketball and was a life-long fan of the Miami Dolphins. He faithfully watched Charles Stanley preaching every Sunday morning. Tony’s favorite food was anything momma cooked, especially her homemade French toast, banana pudding and her potato salad.

He adored his brothers and his parents. Tony would always end his phone conversations with his signature phrase: “I love you, I love you, I love you!”

Tony is survived by his mother, Betty Jean Wilson Gibson Reece of Greensboro; his father, Jarald Dean Gibson of Greensboro; brothers, William Vance Gibson and wife Christy of Stokesdale, Richard “Ricky” Dwayne Gibson and wife Staci of Glen Allen, VA, Lynn Douglas Shumpert and wife Nanci of Provo, Utah and several nieces and nephews.

Private family services will be held. Tony will be interred in Guilford Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Tony’s memory to the Guilford County Fire and EMS.
