Anna was born on March 12, 1914 in Guilford County, the daughter of Enoch D. and Hattie Mae Moore. During WW II, she was one of the women who became known as “Rosie the Riveter.” She worked with the Eclipse Machine Division of Bendix Aviation where she operated a punch press that stamped the name into the shell casings and also helped produce detonators for the Navy.
She loved to bowl and was a member of Center United Methodist Church. She was a loving mother and will be deeply missed.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, George R. Fassett, William A. Simpson and Charles E. Connor; five siblings; Archie Moore, Ruth Bennett, Edna Moore, and Aubrey Moore; grandson, George Allen Oakley and her special four legged friend, “Muffin.” Surviving is her daughter, Doris F. Oakley and husband William of Summerfield, NC; nephew Aubrey and Margaret Bennett and niece Patsy and Ron Poe, all of Greensboro, NC.

The family will receive friends on Thursday evening for 6:30 to 8:30 pm at Center United Methodist Church.
