Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11AM on Friday, November 21, 2014 at Our Lady of Grace Roman Catholic Church, where she was an active member for over 45 years. The family will receive friends at the church at 10AM before the Mass. Interment will take place at 2 PM in Westminster Gardens on Friday, November 21.
Dee Dee was born September 11, 1920 in Davenport, Iowa to Ann DeSaix and Walter Henry Halas. She graduated from Drexel University in 1942. She married the love of her life, Stanley, in 1945 and they were married for 67 years until his death in 2012. She took great joy in caring for her family, her friends and her church. She was a volunteer at Our Lady of Grace Church with the women’s club, altar society, choir, the blood mobile and wherever a hand and smiling face was needed. She enjoyed playing bridge with friends, sharing Stanley’s roses and preparing meals for frequent family gatherings. She was an avid Chicago Bears fan and very proud of her family connection as the niece of George S. Halas. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy.
Together Dee Dee and Stan raised four children, Stanley William Ezekiel Jr. (Mary Lou) of Canton MA; Ann Roberts Judge (Tom) of Camp Hill, PA; Patricia Ann Moor (Rick) of Jerrabomberra, Australia and James George Ezekiel (Susan) of Gibsonville, NC. Her legacy continues with eight grandchildren Paul Christopher Judge (Sarah), William Erik Ezekiel (Katie), Andrew Thomas Judge, Jonathan David Ezekiel (Ana), James George Ezekiel Jr, Adam Ezekiel Moor, Kimberly Corbett Ezekiel and Kailey Susan Ezekiel. She also has four great-grandchildren, Emma Knowles Judge, Lillian Duffy Judge, Aidan Sebastian Judge and William Erik Ezekiel II.
She was predeceased by her four brothers Mike, Pete, George and Bim. Dee Dee is also survived by her sisters-in-law Ruth (William) Hodgson, and Doris Kiely, cousins, and numerous nieces and nephews.
