Mr. Tesnear was employed by the Greene County Highway Department for 36 years, where he retired.
Mr. Tesnear grew up in Milburnton in Limestone, where he lived for many years before moving to Locust Street, where he has lived for the last 36 years.
Mr. Tesnear will be sadly missed by his family and friends. He was a loving father and grandfather.
Survivors include seven children: Kathy and Larry Felton, Willard Jr. and Amy Tesnear, Gary and Christine Tesnear, and Vickie Felton; a step-daughter: Fannie Mae Lamb; 15 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; and one sister: Eve Nelson of Jonesborough.
Mr. Tesnear is preceded in death by his parents: George and Ethel Tesnear; his wife and the mother of his children: Ruby Mae Tesnear; a special friend of 18 years: Betty Lamb; two daughters: Deborah Ann Smith and Brittany Sue Lamb; a son: Jerry Dean Tesnear; and many brothers and sisters.
The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Bob Simpson officiating.
Interment will follow in Milburnton United Methodist Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be his family and friends.
