Acts 20:24 "But I consider my life of no value to myself; my purpose is to finish my course and the ministry I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of God's grace."
Ruth Dinwiddie passed away peacefully in her sleep in Greeneville, TN. Ruth was born in Greene County and lived in the Walkertown area for most of her adult life. Her sweet laugh could make the hardest of hearts smile. She was a graduate of Baileyton High School and Greeneville Business College and spent the majority of her working career at Home Federal Bank promoting up the ranks to Vice President. In her years before and after retirement, she proudly served as the Secretary and Treasurer of the Union Temple Cemetery Association.
What Ruth was most proud of was her Christian faith, and she expressed her loving faith by feeding everybody, giving to all, and showing up for everyone. She cared for her family, her church family, and anyone else who needed caring for. She loved Greeneville and all God’s people in it. She was a walking miracle, a 32 year survivor of esophageal cancer thanks to her faith and the amazing doctors at Vanderbilt.
Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Clyde White, her husband, Glenn Dinwiddie, sisters in law, Grace White and Marion Onx, brothers in law, Bobby Strong and Jimmy Onx, and son, Michael Dinwiddie.
She is survived by her sister, Rose Strong, brother, Don White, son, Tim Dinwiddie, daughters in law Christine Dinwiddie and Patti Dinwiddie and grandchildren Renee French, Brian Layton, Loni Dinwiddie, Tiffany Brogdon, and Tyler Dinwiddie.
